Fundraising Ideas
Make your own contribution -
Lead the way by making your donation first.
Friends and family
–
Email and call everyone you know to tell them about your athletic and fundraising efforts and ask them to make a donation.
Email signature
– add a link to your personal fundraising page on your work or personal email signature.
Happy hour party
– Invite all your friends (and their friends!) and charge them a fee. Party rental companies are also usually willing to donate a rental item for added fun!
Corporate gift matching
– Let your donors know to ask their company to match the amount of their donation to your cause.
Bake sale
– Use your famous cookie recipe to raise some “dough” for your charity.
Ask a local business that you patron to place a money jar at the front desk.
Check with the manager. They may be willing to place the jar with a sign explaining your efforts in a high traffic area so customers can see it.
Think of all the places you spend money
– Ask them to make a check out to you instead of the other way around!
Get media attention
. You or your PR department can write a press release about your corporation’s endeavors. Send it to your local papers or radio stations. Make sure to include information about how people can contribute.
Make music!
– If you know any musicians, ask them to perform a benefit concert. Tell people that their admission ticket is a donation.
Alumni organizations
– Call your own high school, college or university or fraternity/sorority and ask them to place an ad in the alumni newsletter asking for donations.
Raffle –
Sell tickets for a raffle at work.
Get a local company to donate items or ask your HR Department to see if you can raffle off some PTO days!
Dinner
- Ask a local restaurant to donate a portion of their proceeds for the night while you advertise it.
Ask. Ask. Ask. Ask.
– and ask again and don’t get discouraged!
